Meet Morah Liat
I was born and raised in a kibbutz in Israel. I served two years in the army where I taught Hebrew. In 1998 I finished my degree through the College of Teachers in Israel, where I got my B.Ed in science. In Israel, I taught Biology and Chemistry to middle school students.
My love for animals and the desire to be a better teacher for my students led me to go back to college and become a special education teacher with a speciality in Animal Therapeutic Education.
Over the years I trained in being an educator to support parents. I worked with a lot of families to improve the relationship between parents and their children.
We moved to Ottawa a couple of months before COVID started, and even though we haven’t had much time to get to know the city, we felt at home from the beginning.
In my free time I love practicing and teaching yoga and mindfulness. I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, kayaking and eating in vegan restaurants.
I am really excited to share my passion for Hebrew and Israel with my students and to be a part of the OJCS family.
I have no doubt that it’s going to be amazing!
